Your first game

Play classic MAME games with friends.

Start in the browser arcade. No account registration is required. The web player is a preview; start with a desktop computer and check that your chosen game is ready before inviting a friend.

1. Prepare your game files

Have compatible ROM ZIP files that you are entitled to use. Kaileron does not bundle a commercial ROM library or provide download links. A game may also require parent, BIOS or shared archives. The player lists what is missing.

On desktop Chrome or Edge, choose a local ROM folder. Other browsers can select ZIP files. Keep your original archives; a successful import alone does not guarantee that every game is playable.

2. Open the arcade and choose how to play

  1. Open the arcade and use the ROM folder entry to prepare your files.
  2. Choose a game. Try solo play first to confirm that it starts and that sound and controls work.
  3. For online play, select a public cabinet or create a room in the player. Enter a nickname when prompted. Players need compatible game files and the same current runtime.
  4. Wait for the preparation screen to finish. Follow the displayed control setup before starting. Your friend can find the room on the same arcade floor.

The Windows launcher is also available on the home page for advanced controls and tools.

3. If the first game does not start

  • Missing files: check the named parent, BIOS and shared ZIPs. A similarly named archive may contain a different ROM revision.
  • Preparing the engine: let the download and compilation finish. A first launch can take longer than later launches.
  • Incompatible room: exit the game and reload the arcade before joining again after an update.
  • No sound or input: click inside the player, check audio permissions and complete its control setup. Leave a running game before reloading deliberately.
  • Phone or tablet: the floor can be opened on smaller screens, but physical controls, memory limits and browser behavior need device-specific testing. Use a desktop for the first setup.

Keep the diagnostic message if a game fails. Do not send ROMs, private chat or credentials when reporting a problem.
